Q: What do you do?
A: We participate in community service events on campus and off, we are currently expanding what kind of community service we offer. We also recruit people into the organization! You are our posters/flyers/social media post! We also compete in Theatre Conferences and attended theatre based festivals.
Q: What are some things I need to know before joining?
A: You are not required to have any theatre experience, but we will ask you questions on why would you like to join, but if you do we would like to see what you got! Be prepared to preform at our Holiday parties and participate in social events that do involve some challenging theatre games. Be prepared for questions and come with questions to ask!
Q: How to I become a Member?
A: To become a member you will need to attend one of our interest meeting. You will then present a monologue or portfolio (if you have one) and your reason on why you would like to join our organization.
Q:Do you have to pay to be apart of the organization?
A: Yes, We do have dues which are $25 dollars when you begin, and $15 every semester after that.
Q: How long does it take to become a Full Player?
A: It takes three semesters to fully become a player. Everyone is a 'University Player,' but not everyone carries the title of a Player. We have three clubs, The Apprentices (your first semester), The Candidates (your second semester), and The University Players(final semester). You Must Remain financially active and participate in events otherwise you'll remain in your rank. Though, EVERYONE must participate in all EVENTS. You must earn 4 points a semester to continue on into the next club.
Q: Do I have to be a theatre major to try out for shows?
A: No, they're are open to all students! We do have our own productions sometimes in the spring, and you must be in the organization to participate in those shows.
Q: I'm a transfer student... can I still Join?
A: Of Course!
Q: How much theatre/acting experience is required?
A: None, we learn from each other and the events we attend.
Q: What can I expect from joining the organization?
A: You can expect a wild, loud, extremely goofy family! We love our craft and want to share the joy with anyone who joins.
Q: Can I be apart of the organization without participating in the shows?
A: Yes you can, however you are required to participate in all of our events.
Q:Would I have to supply my own costumes, makeup...?
A: Yes and no. It would all depend on the event, but as an actor you ALWAYS want to have your own makeup and 'actor bag.'
Q:For Auditions how many monologues should I Have/ How long should they be?
A: You should always have at least two. One dramatic and one comedy and they should both be a minute long.
